14 Jun 2005
Ian Ashby brings experience and vitality to growing communications software solutions provider
Leading UK communications software solutions provider Exony has appointed telecoms industry expert Ian Ashby to take the expanding company forward. Ian joins as chief executive officer (CEO) and brings 20 years of experience in the telecoms and IT sector. Exony's current CEO, Jonathan Mckay, will now become chairman of the company.
Prior to joining Exony, Ian was vice-president of sales and marketing for NextiraOne Europe, a leading global provider of integrated enterprise network solutions. He led the growth of the company's business with its major strategic partners, Alcatel, Cisco Systems, Nortel Networks and Genesys Labs. Exony works closely with both Cisco and Nortel, as well as other leading service providers and end-users.
Ian was a leading light in the technology revolution of the 1990's, holding high-ranking posts such as vice-president of Lucent Technologies Enterprise Networks, now Avaya Communications, and he has also held senior management roles at Cable & Wireless and smaller technology firms Citikey and Novar.
“I was excited by the challenge offered by Exony and I look forward to overseeing rapid growth," Ashby said. "As the communications industry expands and plays an increasing role in the lives of everyone, so organisations will need to invest to keep their customer service provision ahead of the competition. This is where Exony comes in, and this is why I see such an opportunity for the company to, ultimately, lead the market."
Ian has a degree and a Masters in Engineering (MEng) from Cambridge University and lives in Surrey with his wife and four children.
