Communications software specialist delivers real time system to handle 150 calls per second for sit-up channels
Sit-up channels, the UK’s leading TV auction group, announced that its newly launched speed auction tv channel will run on a real time communications software system from Exony.
The system created and provided by Exony is at the core of sit-up channels auction-based business model. It is able to handle up to 150 incoming calls per second (over 12 million per day) and is integrated with sit-up channels interactive voice response (IVR) system to allow users to place bids in real time. The communications software then processes all results automatically displaying these on screen. Details of successful bidders are then passed to sit-up channels 700 contact centre staff.
Exony has partnered with sit-up since its launch in 2000, creating the real-time system that has enabled the company to grow to a turnover of more than £207 million.
Differing from sister channels bid tv and price-drop tv, speed auction tv operates on a rising price auction dynamic, and offers over 150 fun, fast paced auctions between 12pm and 1am every day.
Bringing customers the very best in top quality goods at low prices, speed auction tv delivers exciting auctions faster than any other channel, broadcasting from the sit-up channels studio complex in West London.
Overall 10,000 auctions are normally running simultaneously in real-time across sit-up’s three channels. 50,000 products are sold on a daily basis across the TV channels, websites and its two retail shops.
“Our whole business model relies on fast performance that allows our customers to bid in real time,” said Christien Haywood, sit-up channels Communications Manager.
“Exony understood our needs as a business from the outset and has delivered a high speed communications software solution that underpins our whole operation, scaling to meet our needs – no matter how many auctions or bids we are receiving. We are confident that our real time system will underpin the success of speed auction tv and meet our growing customer demand.”
“The phenomenal growth of sit-up is a testament to its combination of delivering great value and innovation to its two million customers,” commented Ian Ashby, CEO, Exony. “In this fast-moving environment real time performance is truly business-critical – making our communications software central to sit-up’s continued success.”
