30 Nov 2005

Communications software solutions provider expands services focus

Leading UK communications software solutions provider Exony has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Simon Stearn to head its services operation.

The appointment comes as part of a major expansion for Exony, following the appointment of new CEO Ian Ashby in June 2005 and Phil Sweetland to head up the company’s sales activities in September. These changes have already led to increased sales success, most notably with major telecommunications carrier Energis and sit-up channels, the UK’s leading TV auction group.

Prior to joining Exony, Simon Stearn was Vice President of Services and Support for Netonomy Inc., a leading global provider of self service applications to the telecommunications industry. As Vice President, Services, he will head up the team responsible for Professional Services, Support and Education. Whilst at Netonomy, Simon led delivery of solutions to a number of major customers including Orange and T-Mobile.

Simon has extensive experience in the delivery of professional services having previously worked at other major technology companies, including Portal Software where he was Senior Director, Client Services EMEA and Sybase where he was Practice Manager with responsibility for telecommunications and media clients. He has undertaken projects that range from complex technical design and solution architecture, through to project management, business and technology consulting, education and technical support services.

“Developing our services arm to ensure customers gain the full benefit from our software is essential to setting Exony apart,” said Ian Ashby, CEO, Exony. “We welcome Simon into the expanded management team at this exciting time in Exony’s development. His industry understanding and technical knowledge will further strengthen Exony as it continues to grow.”
