Other Important Notices Regarding Our Privacy and Cookie Policy, including Use of Cookies.
LINKS. Our Site may contain links to third party websites. These linked sites have their own privacy policies and data collection, use and disclosure practices and are not under Exony’s control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the contents of any such linked site, or any link contained in any linked site. We provide such links only as a convenience, and the inclusion of a link on the Site does not imply endorsement of the linked site by Exony. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our Site and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information. Our Policy only governs information collected on our Site. You should contact these third party websites directly if you have any questions about their use of the information that they collect.
COOKIES. Subject to your prior consent where required by applicable law, we may use cookies or similar tracking technologies to enable us to recognize you when you re-visit our website, to customize your experience and/or to serve advertisements. A cookie is a small file containing a string of characters that we may send to your computer or other device that uniquely identifies your browser. Generally our cookies do not store sensitive or personally identifiable information such as your name and address or credit card details. In the unlikely event that our websites use cookies to store personal information about you, we will encrypt the personal data to prevent unauthorised use by anyone else.
Two types of cookies may be used on our Site - "session cookies" and "persistent cookies". Session cookies are temporary cookies that remain on your device until you leave our Site. A persistent cookie remains on your device for much longer or until you manually delete it (how long the cookie remains on your device will depend on the duration or "lifetime" of the specific cookie and your browser settings).
Some of the pages you visit may also collect information using pixel tags (also called clear gifs) that may be shared with third parties which directly support our promotional activities and website development.
Here's a list of the main types of cookies we use on our Site, and what we use them for. We have used the categories recommended by the International Chamber of Commerce in the ICC UK Cookie Guide to describe these cookies:
1. Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are essential in order to enable you to move around the website and use its features, such as accessing secure areas of the website. Examples include remembering previous actions (e.g. entered text) when navigating back to a page in the same session.
2. Performance Cookies: These cookies collect information about how visitors use a website, for instance which pages visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages. Some of these are analytics cookies, set using third party web analytics software, which allow us to understand more about how our website is used. For example, we use Google Analytics to help us monitor our Site traffic. These cookies do not collect information that identifies a visitor. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous and does not affect your privacy. It is only used to improve how a website works. We might also use these cookies to highlight Exony’s products or services which we believe may be of interest to you based on your use of our websites. Information about these cookies and how to reject or delete them: http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/analytics/privacyoverview.html and http://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/ads/#toc-analytics. To opt out of being tracked by Google Analytics, visit http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
3. Functionality Cookies: These cookies allow the website to remember choices you make (such as your user name, language or the region you are in) and provide enhanced, more personal features. For instance, these cookies can be used to remember changes you have made to text size, fonts and other parts of web pages that you can customise. They may also be used to provide services you have asked for such as watching a video or commenting on a blog. The information these cookies collect may be anonymised and they cannot track your browsing activity on other websites.
4. Targeting or advertising cookies: These cookies are used to deliver advertisements more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement as well as help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign. They are usually placed by advertising networks with the website operator’s permission. They remember that you have visited a website and this information is shared with other organisations such as advertisers. Quite often targeting or advertising cookies will be linked to site functionality provided by the other organisation. To the extent we allow any third party advertising on our Site, we may allow such third party advertisers who are presenting advertisements on some of our Site pages to set and access their cookies on your computer. Doing this permits the third party advertisers to recognize your computer each time they send you an advertisement and to deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. We do not have access to or control of the cookies that may be placed by the third party advertisers. This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by Exony and does not cover the use of cookies by any of its advertisers.
Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. If you prefer, you can reset your browser to notify you when you have received a cookie, or alternatively, to refuse to accept cookies. It is important to note that you may not be able to use certain features on our Site if you choose not to accept cookies. For additional detailed information about cookies, including how to manage their use via your browser, go to www.aboutcookies.org/.
In order to access our Site, you have to agree to our cookies policy set out above. This means that when you consent to our Terms of Use, you consent to our cookies stamen set forth herein. If you do not turn off cookies, then your consent to our Terms of Use further confirms your consent to downloading our cookies.
SECURITY OF INFORMATION. To the extent that Exony uses personal identifiers (such as usernames and passwords) to verify your identity, maintain recordkeeping in our system, and for other purposes, it is your responsibility to safeguard this unique information so as not to allow unauthorized users to view personal information. We seek to have security measures and tools (such as firewalls and data encryption) in place to help protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or data storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Therefore, even as we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us through or in connection with our Site or that is stored by us. You acknowledge and agree that any information you transmit through the Site or upload for storage in connection with the Site is so transmitted or stored at your own risk. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, if you feel that the security of any account you might have with us has been compromised), you must immediately notify us of the problem by contacting us at privacy@exony.com.
CONSENT TO TRANSFER. Personal Information collected on the Site may be stored and processed in any country in which we or our affiliates, suppliers, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities, and by using the Site, you consent to any transfer of your personal information outside of your country (including to third countries which may not have been assessed as having adequate privacy laws). Nevertheless, we take steps to ensure that our affiliates, agents, subsidiaries and suppliers comply with our standards of privacy, regardless of their location.
CHANGES TO OUR POLICY. Please note that Exony reviews its privacy practices from time to time, and as a result, we may modify this Policy at any time without prior notice. Please periodically review this page to ensure continuing familiarity with the most current version of our Policy. Any changes to our Policy will become effective upon our posting of the revised Policy on this Site. Use of our Site following such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy then in effect.
If you have any additional questions or concerns about this Policy, please feel free to contact us any time at privacy@exony.com.
This Policy is updated as of July 3, 2012.
